The little word "but" in John 3:16 marks the greatest reversal in human history. We were perishing, destined for eternal separation from God, but Jesus changed everything. Through faith in Him, we pass from death to life, from wrath to grace, from perishing to everlasting life. This isn't mere existence extended forever; eternal life means knowing God intimately, experiencing relationship with the Father and the Son. Today, examine your heart honestly: Do you truly believe, or have you merely acknowledged facts about Jesus? Saving faith is present-tense trust, resting fully in Christ's finished work. If you've believed, let this truth rekindle your first love. If you're uncertain, today is the day to trust Him completely. The world is divided into two groups—those who believe and receive life, and those who don't and perish. Where do you stand?
