Passion for Christ - Day 4: The Call to Zealous Living

Day 4: The Call to Zealous Living
Reading: Revelation 3:14-19; 2 Timothy 4:1-2

Devotional:
Jesus reserves His harshest words not for the cold but for the lukewarm. Apathy disgusts Him more than opposition because it reveals hearts that have tasted grace yet remain unmoved. The Laodicean church thought themselves rich while spiritually bankrupt—comfortable yet wretched. Christ's rebuke comes from love, calling them to "be zealous and repent." God didn't create you for mediocrity or spiritual indifference. If sporting events, politics, or hobbies stir more passion than the Savior who died for you, something is tragically wrong. Paul charged Timothy to preach "in season and out of season"—when convenient and when costly. Life with Christ is an adventure, not a sentence to be endured. What ignites your enthusiasm? Invest your passion in what's eternal. Be zealous for the One who was zealous enough to die for you.
