Moving Forward in Christ - Day 5: Continuous Effort and God's Work

Day 5: Continuous Effort and God's Work
Reading: Philippians 2:12-13, Matthew 5:6

Devotional:
Here's the beautiful paradox of Christian growth: "Work out your salvation...for it is God who works in you." Spiritual progress requires both divine power and human participation. You cannot manufacture Christlikeness through willpower alone, yet you cannot grow without intentional effort. God works in you to create both the desire and the ability to please Him—then calls you to actively participate in that work. This is the hunger and thirst for righteousness that Jesus blesses. It's not passive waiting but active pursuing. Like a runner who presses forward with continuous effort, reaching ahead while pressing on, we must maintain consistent spiritual disciplines: prayer, Scripture reading, worship, fellowship, service. These aren't legalistic requirements but means of grace through which God transforms us. Are you hungering and thirsting for righteousness? How are you actively cooperating with God's transforming work in your life today?
