Day 3: Ground That Must Be Held
Reading: Jude 1:3 and Galatians 1:9
Devotional:
Jude calls believers to contend earnestly for the faith delivered once for all to the saints. The word contend carries the image of an athlete straining with everything available to win. This is not an invitation to argue about preferences, traditions, or secondary matters. It is a call to hold the line on what is essential. Paul and Barnabas refused to surrender when men added circumcision to faith as a requirement for salvation. They understood that the Gospel is not one position among many. It is the ground on which eternity stands. Some things are worth the conflict. The Gospel is one of them.
Practical Application:
Identify one situation in your life where you have remained silent about the Gospel out of discomfort. Pray for the courage to hold the line gently and clearly when that opportunity returns.
