A Life Fully Surrendered - Day 2: Courage in the Face of Opposition

Day 2: Courage in the Face of Opposition
Reading: Acts 6:9-10; Daniel 3:16-18

Devotional:
Stephen faced formal debates with the most educated religious leaders of his day. They couldn't refute his wisdom because he spoke with the authority of the Holy Spirit. Like Daniel's friends before the fiery furnace, Stephen refused to compromise his convictions even when threatened.

What keeps you from witnessing? From praying boldly? From living uncompromisingly for Christ? Fear of rejection, mockery, or loss? Stephen's courage didn't come from self-confidence but from being filled with something—Someone—greater than himself. The same Holy Spirit who empowered Stephen dwells in you.

The story of the young soldier who refused to stop praying despite persecution reminds us: weak Christianity accomplishes nothing. When we stand firm, God works powerfully. Three men were converted because one soldier had courage.

Application:
Identify one situation where fear has silenced your witness. Pray for Holy Spirit courage, then take one bold step of faith today.
