Devotional:
Paul described gospel proclamation not as optional but as compulsory: "Woe is me if I do not preach the gospel!" Jeremiah experienced this same divine compulsion, comparing God's word to a fire shut up in his bones that he could not contain. This is the mark of genuine conversion—an internal pressure to share what Christ has done. The gospel is not burdensome information to reluctantly distribute but burning truth that demands release. When the Holy Spirit indwells you, His presence creates holy restlessness until Christ is made known. You may grow weary, face opposition, or attempt silence, but the fire will not be quenched. Have you felt this compulsion? If sharing your faith feels purely dutiful rather than deeply necessary, ask God to reignite the flames. Let His word burn within you until holding back becomes impossible.
