Day 1: Getting God's Attention
Reading: Acts 9:1-9
Devotional:
Sometimes God must get our attention before transformation can begin. Saul was consumed with religious zeal, breathing threats and murder against Christians. He believed he was serving God, yet he was opposing Jesus Himself. Like the stubborn mule needing a two-by-four, we sometimes live contrary to God's will while thinking we're right. Religious tradition, family heritage, or personal conviction can blind us to truth. Saul's dramatic encounter on the Damascus road reminds us that God loves us enough to interrupt our destructive paths. Are you so committed to your own way that God needs to stop you in your tracks? Today, ask yourself: Am I truly following Jesus, or just my own religious ideas?
