Standing Firm in Gospel Opposition - Day 4: The Fellowship of His Sufferings

Day 4: The Fellowship of His Sufferings
Reading: Philippians 3:10; John 15:20; John 16:33

Devotional:
Paul's desire was profound: to know Christ "and the fellowship of His sufferings." This isn't masochism; it's intimacy. When we suffer for righteousness, we share something sacred with Jesus. He promised, "If they persecuted Me, they will also persecute you." Opposition isn't a sign you're doing something wrong—often it confirms you're doing something right. Jesus also promised, "In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world." Your suffering has purpose and a time limit. Christ has already secured the victory. Whether the opposition is physical persecution or attacks on your character, you're walking where Jesus walked. Today, reframe your perspective on suffering. Instead of avoiding it at all costs, ask God to help you see it as an opportunity for deeper fellowship with Him.
