Day 4: Applied Peace Through Obedience
Reading: John 14:27c; Philippians 4:6-7
Devotional:
Jesus says, "Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid." This verse contains both a promise and a command. Peace is ours, but we must apply it to our lives. An exercise bike provides no benefit until you ride it. Similarly, God's promises require application. The Holy Spirit indwells you, but are you being filled? He teaches, but are you studying God's Word? Paul instructs us to be anxious for nothing, presenting everything to God through prayer with thanksgiving. Then God's peace, surpassing understanding, guards our hearts and minds. Peace isn't automatic—it requires intentional trust. You must choose to fix your mind on Christ, refuse anxiety, and actively pray. What promise of peace do you need to apply today? What anxiety needs to be surrendered through prayer?
