Day 3: The Comfort That Equips
Reading: John 14:15-18
Devotional:
Jesus promised not to leave us as orphans but to send the Holy Spirit—the Paraclete, the One called alongside to help. This divine Comforter is not merely a source of emotional consolation but our Equipper for service, our Illuminator of Scripture, and our Guide away from sin. The healthy church walks in this comfort, which is inseparably linked to walking in the fear of the Lord. Notice Jesus' condition: "If you love Me, keep My commandments." The Spirit's comfort empowers obedience, not complacency. He is "another Helper" of the same kind as Jesus—fully divine, fully present, fully committed to your transformation. When you feel inadequate for the tasks before you, remember the Spirit dwells within you. His comfort strengthens you for every good work and equips you to build up the body of Christ.

Am I relying on the Holy Spirit's comfort and guidance, or am I attempting to serve in my own strength?
