Day 3: Peace in the Prison
Reading: Acts 12:6-7; Philippians 4:6-7; Isaiah 26:3
Devotional:
The night before his scheduled execution, Peter wasn't pacing anxiously—he was sleeping so soundly an angel had to slap him awake. This wasn't denial or ignorance; it was supernatural peace rooted in prayer and trust. Peter had learned to cast his anxieties on God, and God's peace guarded his heart. He remembered Jesus' promise that he would die in old age, not by Herod's sword. When we keep our minds fixed on God's character and promises, He keeps us in perfect peace regardless of circumstances. This peace defies human logic. It allows believers to keep their heads when everyone else is losing theirs—not because they don't understand the situation, but because they understand their God better than the situation.
