Day 3: Praying for God's Perspective
Reading: Numbers 6:22-26; John 17:17
Devotional:
David's prayer shifts in Psalm 13 from complaint to petition: "Consider and hear me, O LORD my God; enlighten my eyes." He wasn't asking God to change his circumstances immediately but to change his perspective. Like viewing a building from a drone rather than ground level, God's perspective reveals what we cannot see from our limited position. The priestly blessing in Numbers asks that "the LORD make His face shine upon you"—a prayer for divine perspective and favor. Jesus prayed that we would be sanctified by truth, declaring "Your word is truth." When you feel overwhelmed, don't just pray for changed circumstances; pray for changed vision. Ask God to help you see His faithfulness, His purposes, and His presence in your situation. Truth transforms how we experience trials.
