Lives Changed by Christ - Day 4: Turning to Jesus, Turning from the Past

Day 4: Turning to Jesus, Turning from the Past
Reading: Acts 3:19; Acts 9:35

Devotional:
When two entire towns saw Aeneas walking after eight years of paralysis, they didn't just admire a miracle—they turned to the Lord. True repentance is a complete turning: toward Jesus and away from old ways. It's not adding Jesus to an unchanged life; it's allowing Him to transform everything. The Greek word for repentance means a complete change of mind and direction. These communities witnessed undeniable power and responded with wholesale life change. Aeneas himself became a living testimony—his transformed life raised questions that led to gospel conversations. Your changed life is your most powerful witness. When people see authentic transformation, they want to know the source. Is your life so different that it prompts questions? Have you truly turned from old patterns, or are you trying to walk in two directions simultaneously? Repentance brings refreshing from God's presence.

I had to think about this one for a little while and search my soul. Being a child that was raised in church since before I could walk. Taught the Bible lessons and read the Bible everyday. I was taught to walk in the Christian faith as a child. But, just walking in the faith was not enough, I was in my 30’s when God started dealing with me about my faith and my relationship with Him. God used the scripture and a karate class to show me, I was going through the motions. I was the one left in the field, and I was the one left in the church. I had grew up learning all the right words to say, the hymns to sing and how to dress. But I had never truly surrendered my heart to Christ. That Friday night, in my kitchen cooking supper I surrendered my heart and my life to Christ. It has not been an easy journey, but no growth is found in the life were the journey is easy. Growth is found when we face the struggles and challenges of life and totally surrender to Our Father. God’s light shines the brightest when we allow Him to work through us!! So today, I choose to allow God to work through me!
