Reading: John 11:17-27 and 1 Corinthians 15:50-58

Jesus declared to grieving Martha, "I am the resurrection and the life." Not "I will be" but "I am"—present tense, eternal reality. Dorcas's restoration foreshadowed the ultimate promise: Christ will raise all believers on the last day. Death held Lazarus, Dorcas, and countless others, but Jesus demonstrated authority over humanity's final enemy. Because Christ rose as firstfruits, we need not fear death's sting. Mortality will be swallowed up in victory. This isn't wishful thinking—it's proven reality. Jesus didn't just promise resurrection; He performed it repeatedly, then conquered death Himself.
