Day 5: Prayer and Action Together
Reading: Ephesians 6:18; Acts 12:12-17
Devotional:
When Peter arrived at Mary's house, the believers were still praying for his release—even as he knocked on the door. They had faith enough to pray but struggled to believe their prayers were answered. Like Moody passing buckets while praying about the ship's fire, we must combine intercession with action. Prayer isn't an escape from responsibility; it's the power source for faithful engagement. We pray always with all perseverance for all the saints, then we participate in God's answers. The effective, fervent prayer of the righteous accomplishes much—not because we're worthy, but because God is faithful. He invites us into partnership: we handle the natural while He handles the supernatural. Keep praying. Keep moving. Keep trusting. God is working even when the answer hasn't yet knocked on your door.
