Day 3: The Suffering Servant Who Bore Our Judgment

Herod died in judgment for his own sin. James died in faith, belonging to Jesus. The difference between those two deaths is not found in the men themselves but in the Servant described in Isaiah 53. Every transgression, every act of self-glorification, every moment of defiance toward God — Isaiah says the LORD laid all of it upon Him. The judgment that should have fallen on us was absorbed by Christ. His wounds purchased our healing. His chastisement secured our peace. You were the sheep that went astray. He is the one who bore the weight of that wandering. Receive that grace with a grateful and humbled heart today.
