Day 1: Sacred Duty in Everyday Life
Reading: Colossians 3:23-24; Acts 12:25-13:1
Devotional:
The believers at Antioch did not treat their service as routine. They ministered to the Lord with the same reverence an Old Testament priest brought to the altar. Paul and Barnabas traveled over 330 miles to deliver relief to suffering believers in Jerusalem, seeing that mission through to its completion. Their work was not merely humanitarian. It was priestly. Colossians 3:23-24 reinforces this mindset by calling believers to work heartily in everything as service rendered directly to Christ. This transforms every ordinary act. Cooking a meal, teaching a class, giving an offering, singing a song, showing up faithfully when no one notices -- all of it becomes a sacred offering placed before God. The question worth sitting with today is whether you approach your responsibilities at home, at work, at church, and at school with that same reverence. God is not honored only inside a sanctuary. He receives the whole of your life as an act of worship when your heart is oriented toward Him.
