Day 4: Called and Equipped for a Purpose

Devotional:
God's declaration over Saul in Acts 9:15 -- that he was a chosen vessel appointed to carry His name before Gentiles, kings, and the children of Israel -- did not produce an overnight transformation. Twelve years of preparation followed before Saul stepped into his missionary calling from Antioch. God's calling is rarely instantaneous in its unfolding. It is progressive, shaped through seasons of learning, suffering, obscurity, and faithfulness. First Thessalonians 2:12 calls believers to walk worthy of the God who calls them into His kingdom and glory. First Peter 1:15 ties calling directly to holiness, establishing that how a person lives is inseparable from the identity God has assigned them. Calling is not only about what you do. It is about who you are becoming. Jonah illustrates the cost of running from God's call. Paul illustrates the fruit of ultimately embracing it. Every believer carries a gifting and a calling, and neither is accidental. God's sovereign hand has been ordering the details of your life with purpose.
