Day 5: The Whole Church Taking Its Role Seriously
Reading: Acts 13:1-3; Romans 12:4-8; Colossians 3:16

The church at Antioch was not built around one personality. It had prophets and teachers, givers and senders, those who prayed and those who went. Each person took their role seriously, and together they launched one of the most consequential missionary endeavors in the history of the church. What is true of a football team is also true about the body of Christ. A team where only one player gives full effort loses. A church where only a few take ministry seriously stagnates. Colossians 3:16 envisions a community where the Word of Christ dwells richly among all the members, producing mutual wisdom, teaching, and worship. Romans 12:4-8 affirms that every member carries a distinct function that the body genuinely needs. The Antioch church was effective because everyone understood that ministry, the Word, and God's call were not the pastor's exclusive domain. They belonged to the whole community. The same is true of your church today.
