Day 3: The Restoration of the Quitter
Reading: 2 Timothy 4:11; 1 Peter 5:13
Devotional:
John Mark's story does not end in failure. The man who abandoned Paul on the first missionary journey eventually became so valuable to him that Paul specifically requested his presence near the end of his life, calling him useful for ministry. Church tradition also credits John Mark as the author of the Gospel of Mark — one of the most widely read accounts of the life of Jesus ever written. God does not discard people who stumble. He restores, reshapes, and redirects them. If you have walked away from something God called you to, John Mark's story is not a warning to shame you. It is an invitation to return.
Reflection Question:
Have you allowed a past failure in faith or ministry to convince you that God can no longer use you effectively?
Practical Application:
Spend time today in honest prayer, naming the specific failure or retreat you have been carrying. Receive the grace that restores and take one concrete step back toward faithfulness.
