Day 5: Prepared for the Moment
Reading: 1 Peter 3:15; Acts 13:14-16
Devotional:
Paul walked into the synagogue at Pisidian Antioch and was invited to speak. He was ready. His preparation was not accidental — it was the result of a life devoted to knowing God, knowing Scripture, and knowing his mission. Rumeal Robinson missed two free throws in January and vowed it would never happen again. He shot one hundred free throws every day until the championship moment arrived, and he was ready. Spiritual preparation works the same way. We do not know when God will place us in front of someone who needs to hear about Jesus. First Peter describes this readiness as being prepared to give a defense for the hope within us. That preparation happens long before the moment arrives.
Reflection Question:
If someone asked you today why you believe what you believe, or how they could know Jesus personally, would you be ready to answer with clarity and confidence?
Practical Application:
Set aside time this week to write out your personal testimony in three to five sentences and to review a basic outline of the Gospel from Scripture. Pray that God will create an opportunity for you to use it, and commit to being ready when He does.
