Day 5: The One Thing You Can Always Control
Reading: 1 Corinthians 15:58; Acts 14:6-7

Devotional:
When Paul and Barnabas fled Iconium under threat of stoning, they did not stop preaching. They preached in the next place. As the pastor noted in this sermon, "Paul and Barnabas could not control how people responded to the Gospel. They could not control the opposition. They could not control the circumstances. But they could control one thing: whether they would remain faithful to the mission God had given them. And so they kept speaking." This is the final word on persistent ministry. You cannot control outcomes. You cannot control hearts. You cannot control opposition. But you can control your faithfulness. And 1 Corinthians 15:58 assures us that labor done in the Lord is never wasted, even when we cannot see the fruit.
