Day 5: The Gospel Reaches the Lost

Lukas McClish spent ten days lost in the Santa Cruz Mountains before he cried out and rescuers found him. As long as he believed he could manage on his own, he was not looking for rescue. The Gospel works the same way. Paul and Barnabas brought the message of the living God to a crowd that was spiritually lost and did not fully know it. They proclaimed a Creator who had not left Himself without witness, a God who was not a legend or a myth but the source of every good thing. The Gospel is not merely good advice for people trying to be better. It is rescue for people who cannot save themselves. It calls us to recognize our need, identify the true God, and turn to Jesus -- God in flesh -- as Savior. That message, week after week, reaches the lost. Have you been reached? And are you helping others hear?
