Living for What Matters - Day 1: The Mission God Has Given You
Day 1: The Mission God Has Given You
Reading: Acts 13:1-3 and Acts 14:26-28
Devotional:
Every believer has been entrusted with a mission. It does not begin with your ambition or your plan. It begins with God's call. Paul and Barnabas were not volunteers who decided to take a trip. They were sent by the Holy Spirit. And when they returned, they reported what God had done through them. Notice that distinction. The mission was God's. The work was God's. They were instruments in His hands. Before you can be faithful to your mission, you must first recognize that you have one. God has placed people in your life, given you gifts, and opened doors that no one else can walk through in quite the way you can. That is not an accident. It is an assignment.
Reflection:
What specific people or responsibilities has God placed in your life that may represent your God-given mission?
Application:
Write down one name of a person God may be calling you to reach, disciple, or encourage this week. Pray over that name today.
