Day 2: Faithful When It Is Difficult
Reading: Acts 14:19-23 and 2 Timothy 4:6-8
Devotional:
Paul was stoned in Lystra, dragged outside the city, and left for dead. He got up and went back in. The next day he left for Derbe. That is not natural resilience. That is the fruit of a man who had settled the question of whether he would be faithful regardless of the cost. Faithfulness is not measured in the moments when obedience is easy. It is measured in the moments when quitting would be completely understandable. Paul would later write that he had fought the good fight, finished the race, and kept the faith. That testimony was not written in comfort. It was forged in hardship. The same God who sustained Paul is the God who sustains you.

Is there an area of obedience in your life where difficulty has caused you to slow down or consider quitting?
Application:
Identify one act of faithful obedience you have been postponing. Take one concrete step toward it today, trusting God for the strength to continue.
