Responsibilities in Relation to the Gospel - Day 2: Knowing the Genuine Article
Day 2: Knowing the Genuine Article
Reading: Galatians 2:16 and Romans 3:21-28
Devotional:
A trained bank examiner learns to detect counterfeit currency not primarily by studying fakes but by handling the genuine bill until its texture, weight, and detail become second nature. The same principle applies to the Gospel. Paul makes clear in Romans 3 that justification comes through faith apart from the works of the law. This is not a secondary theological point. It is the dividing line between true and false religion. When you know the real Gospel deeply, distortions become recognizable. They feel wrong before you can even fully explain why. Immerse yourself in Scripture so that the truth becomes instinctive.
Practical Application:
Memorize Galatians 2:16 this week. Read it slowly each morning and ask God to make its meaning clear and personal to you.
