Day 4: The Joy That Belongs to the Gospel
Reading: Acts 15:3 and Luke 15:1-10
Devotional:
When Paul and Barnabas passed through Phoenicia and Samaria describing the conversion of the Gentiles, Luke records that the news brought great joy to all the believers who heard it. That joy was not manufactured or organized. It arose naturally from understanding what had actually happened. People who were lost had been found. People who were dead had been made alive. Jesus described the same reality in Luke 15, where He teaches that heaven itself celebrates when one sinner repents. The Gospel is not only a truth to defend. It is good news to celebrate. If our theology is correct but our joy is absent, something has gone wrong.
Practical Application:
Think of someone you know who has come to faith in Christ. Contact them today and tell them specifically why their salvation is worth celebrating.
