Being In Tune With God - Day 2: Letting Scripture Set the Standard

Day 2: Letting Scripture Set the Standard
Reading:
Psalm 119:105-112

Devotional:
James did not rely on feelings or preferences when he addressed the Jerusalem council. He turned to the Word of God, quoting from Amos to confirm that what was happening among the Gentiles was not a surprise to God but a fulfillment of His ancient promise. Scripture was not secondary to the experience. Scripture gave the experience its meaning. We live in a time when opinion is treated as authority and personal experience is treated as proof. But God's Word does not exist to confirm what we already believe. It exists to correct, direct, and illuminate the path we have not yet seen.

Reflection:
Is there an area of your life where you have been allowing your experience or opinion to override what Scripture clearly says?

Practical Application:
Identify one belief or preference you hold strongly. Look for at least two passages of Scripture that speak directly to that area and allow them to inform your thinking rather than the other way around.

God's word is his guidance and should be searched out for all our needs with prayer and the Holy spirits guidance in alignment. Dont be anxious for anything. Cast your cares upon the Lord and trust him only to guide you.
